From Ashes to Fire - Never Count Out the Kids

Hi everyone!

Some of you already got my notecard about the idea of creating our own SL5B celebration place, after being kicked out of contributing to the official one. I have to say that I'm very happy about all the positive responses I already got, from different parts of our kids community. And here we already have one point that in my eyes is very important: this project should be a showcase for all of us. There are many different directions within the kids community, and I'd like to see them all represented in this project. The goonies and the schoolkids. The playground gang and the teens. The humans, the nekos, the furries, everyone. We should show LL the value this company gave up:

United in Diversity

I'm very happy to announce that thanks to a sponsor we won't have a low prim SIM but a full prim one available for this project (and if we need more, another one would be possible)! That means we will be able to have real parties, have a bigger number of visitors at the same time without the SIM lagging out, less restrictions on prim count and scripts.

Now, this project is about YOU. ALL OF YOU! So please, think about what YOU can do to make it happen, to make it the best representation of what the kids of second life really are. Can you contribute something? Build something? Do you have any cool ideas that you would like to see?

We are in the very early stages, myself I can imagine stuff like playground, a little school, maybe a scout camp, a teen hangout, a party area (could have live events like DJs, performers, movies), adventure area (maybe something like a haunted house?), amusement area (maybe a race track in the sky), an area for kids orientated places from allover the grid to present themselfs - and I'm sure with the many creative heads within the kids community there will be many more great ideas!

Please contact me or Harold Melnik with ideas. And it would be even better if you could give us concrete plans like "I want to do xyz, I would need a parcel this big and that number of prims.".

I created the open enrollment group "Kids5B" (thanks to Sean for the name idea) for better communication and planning - please join :-)

We are not sure yet about the organisation structure, as I said, we are just in the beginning stages of this project.
